Press Passes
Press passes are issued to individuals representing a recognized news organization, including freelancers who contribute to such organizations. Individuals involved with public relations, marketing, sales, circulation, advertising, or any other non-editorial function are not eligible for press passes. For members of the press who are also exhibiting at the meeting, press credentials may only be worn during official press duties; otherwise, exhibitor credentials must be worn. The ATC reserves the right to inspect the credentials of anyone requesting a press pass, and to refuse to issue a press pass. Generally, no more than five representatives per organization are issued credentials. The ATC does not make public any list of press attendees or their affiliations.
Access
Credentialed media have access to all general sessions, including plenary, poster discussion, and concurrent sessions. Access to ticketed events with limited enrollment, such as Early Morning Workshops, is restricted to ticket holders only. The ATC reserves the right to restrict attendance at any session. Press are required to check in at the onsite Press Counter and you will need your media press credential in order to receive a Press Badge. The Press Room is located in TBD. Your materials, program supplement and mini program will be in the Press Room.
The Press Room is open during the following hours:
Saturday, April 30 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, May 1 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Monday, May 2 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 3 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 4 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The ATC publishes a variety of press materials, including press releases, background information and additional information from abstract presenters. Corporate materials are not made available in the ATC newsroom.
Phone/Fax/Internet
Telephones, a fax machine, Internet access, and copier are available in the Press Room to assist credentialed media representatives. Those using the Internet, telephones, fax machine or computer terminals are asked to keep the time of their use to a minimum if others are waiting. Long-distance calls must be charged to a credit card.
Copyright
Reproduction of materials such as abstract data, posters, presentation slides, etc., requires first obtaining permission from the listed author(s) and/or presenter(s) as well as from any individual or group that may hold copyright on the material. Journalists violating copyright may have their press credentials denied the following year. Photography of sessions, trade show booths, event set up, etc. is prohibited at the ATC 2011. The ATC has a designated staff photographer and can provide ATC 2011 event photography for journalists who wish to run photos of the event in their given media. This can be arranged by contacting Linda Villa-Woody, Director of Public Relations, on site at the meetings. If required, with advance notice, posed shots of pre-approved speakers, events, press conferences or key personnel can be arranged by contacting the Press Room onsite at the meetings.
